About Me

Hello Everyone!

My name is Haffye, and yes that is my real name (It's pronounced like haff-ee). I am a self-taught artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina and I am so happy you're here at my website! Art has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl; after I held my first pencil I was obsessed with drawing. The desire to create comes very naturally and has developed over the years. You'll notice there is a wide variety of pieces in this shop because my style continues to progress as I mature and grow in life. Some pieces were created from when I was just 16 years old to the now ripe age of 23!

Staying up late at night with my sketchpad was a regular routine when I was younger, constantly teaching myself new tricks and drawing methods, until I taught myself how to use acrylic paints at age 18. Once color came into the picture, I was hooked! Acrylic paint has been my medium of choice for the past 4 years.

I find color extremely comforting. Emotion is the driving force of my work and is what pushes me to express myself. I start with a deep emotion or feeling and gradually begin introducing color, shapes, and line. I then gravitate towards using emotive images, intricate designs, and bold colors to reflect the subject chosen. By responding to the development of the piece, the work eventually pushes itself into creation! I like to think every individual resonates with each piece differently, because art has a way of holding a mirror to what your soul is feeling or what you may be experiencing at this time in your life.  Deep emotions of sadness, loss, desire, fear, and joy are a few themes underlying my pieces. I believe we are all connected by these deep emotions, regardless of our different experiences.

I have been featured in art events like First Fridays in Raleigh, Last Fridays in Clayton and the Pancake & Booze Art Shows in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. I also love to participate in pop-up shows around the Triangle area, so follow my social media to see what's coming up near you!

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to view my work and explore my designs! I love talking with people so don't hesitate to send me an email or message me up on social media!

All love,
